A Felicity 15 kWh lithium battery — one of the larger units in our lithium batteries range, and a common choice for whole-home storage or a small commercial load.

At 15 kWh this is a bank for a household that either runs substantial loads, or wants genuine multi-day autonomy. It is also the capacity at which the battery bank starts to dominate the cost of a system, which is precisely why the sizing has to be right.

Two figures decide the capacity you need: your daily energy use in kWh, and your autonomy in days. The arithmetic is in our solar sizing guide. Do not size by intuition — an undersized bank simply will not carry the night, and you end up with a generator running exactly as often as before.

Lithium rather than lead-acid is a deliberate choice at this size. You get roughly 80–90% of the rated capacity usable instead of about 50%, several times the cycle life, no water top-ups, and much better behaviour in Nigerian heat.
